Not sure if you both realise but it's not the norm to get such a huge positive response to an ultra race. Entry filling in 48hrs and all the thanks and positive comments to follow. You're on a winning formula there! Congrats.
I will of course come back next year. I think I joked after I finished that I'd call it quits. No way! I love your race, and I want to have another battle with Mark again next year (it was mentally one of the toughest things I've done trying to hold him off).
I have just returned from a wonderful weekend away in the Brecon Beacons where myself and my partner took part in your Brecon Ultra Race. She has not done any trail or hill running before and so we took things nice and easy completing just the one lap. We saw birds of prey, stunning scenery and just loved the experience.
Your organisation and your marshals were outstanding, so incredibly friendly and so supportive. I run with my partner in various races and sometimes we have periods where we are in last position and you tend to feel you are a bit inconvenient and holding things up. Yet in your race without exception we were positively encouraged, I have to pay special thanks to the kind gentleman at the end of the forest track as it gets to the road after the first checkpoint, He shook my hand and gave my partner a hug and really made us feel good, Without exception everyone was so uplifting and positive it was a truly exceptional race and experience.
We felt that we had such a lovely day that to push another lap might have spoilt it. We would have had the marshals waiting a very long time and it wasn’t fair to expect people to be out there just for us and my partner didn’t like the thought of the gap by head torch with her inexperience on the loose rocks at night.
Thank you so very much for putting on a race that has made us feel so welcome, It was an amazing experience and we would love to return.
I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you very much for organising such a great event. Having never run more than a marathon distance in a race I was a little apprehensive but everybody was fantastic, from all of the marshals and other helpers through to the competitors. I was chuffed with my time (although a couple of seconds under 10 hours would have been even sweeter!).

You guys put on a phenomenal event and I was really lucky to be able to take part! I'm from the US and had never been to the Brecon Beacons area before and it sure was beautiful. I'll definitely plan on next year.

Welcome to the Beacons Ultra 2013
The Beacons Ultra is a mere 46ish mile mixed trail/mountain/canal/road run around the magnificent Brecon Beacons in the middle of November, when climatic conditions can vary quite considerably. In the events 5 year history the race has taken place in everything from sparkling Sunshine through to minus 8 degrees, with obligatory rain and mist thrown in to remind the athletes that they are running in Wales in all its glory.
The timing of the Beacons Ultra being at the end of the prime UK Ultra season means the event attracts a very mixed range of abilities….from Multi World Record Holders, to World Champions through to those taking part in an Ultra Run for the very first time and of course everyone in between, with the overriding atmosphere being relaxed and welcoming (although the competitive spirit in some can never die….ha!!). Whatever your ability, you will also be made extremely welcome by what is possibly the friendliest organisers and marshals anywhere on the planet.
Entries for 2013 will open at 00.01hrs on February 1st 2013 and will close once the
race limit has been reached. Although we don’t like to assume it will happen again,
in both 2011 and 2012 the race limit was reached within 24 hours, so please don’t
delay in getting your entry in via the Likeys website. See details on the Race Entry
